Flood Relief in Hoogly District of West Bengal
Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team ( AMURT / AMURTEL) is doing services to the flood victims of Hoogly District. Vast areas of Hooghly district were inundated due to heavy rains and DVC water. About 2500 people were benefited by AMURT Relief at Arunda Gram Panchayat under Block No.-1 of Khanakul police station of Hooghly District. They have distributed sugar, biscuits, drinking water and milk to children. Simultaneously fruit juice was also distributed. The medical camp was set up by eminent MBBS doctor and Bhukti Pradhan of Hooghly District, Mrinal Kanti Roy, Homeopathy Dr. Babu and teacher of Bhandarhati Anand Marga school and eminent LFT Suchand Dhara were also in the medical team. About five hundred people were examined and given free medicines. Acharya Subikashananda Avadhuta and Anand Madhuparna Acharya were present in this camp. The team is consisting of Anand Marga monks and nuns along with teachers of Anand Marga School Balipur and local Anand Marga volunteers of the area worked tirelessly to conduct this relief work, so the needy people should get desired help and relief. The people of the area are very much excited and happy and praising immensely relief rendered by AMURT.
