New beginning in Skill Development for Rural Youth in Anandanagar*
A skill development workshop was inaugurated at the Anandanagar Rotunda (auditorium), organized by the Ananda Marga Pracharaka Sangha in Anandanagar. The event was supported by Vocational on Wheels (VOW, a forum for vocational education and training) and the Indian Jute Industries Research Association (IJIRA), Kolkata, aiming to enhance the skills of rural youth.
*The workshop proceedings as follows:*
Acarya Narayanananda Avadhuta, Rector Master, Anandanagar, delivered the welcome speech, explaining the event's purpose and significance.

*In Anandanagar, we are launching two initial skill training courses:*
(1) Apparel Course (related to sewing)
(2) Office Assistant Computer Course.
As part of the workshop, a “Need Analysis” was conducted through a Q&A session with attendees. Additional courses will be introduced based on local needs. This training will be conducted under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana-4.0 (PMKVY4.0), a program of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India.
Many individuals from the Anandanagar area migrate to other states in search of work, often finding employment as unskilled laborers. We aspire for local youth to gain hands-on skills alongside traditional education, enabling them to become self-reliant. After completing their studies, they can start work based on their skills rather than remain unemployed. This approach will elevate the quality of work and contribute to overall economic growth in the area. *Our aim is to establish Anandanagar as a “Skill Hub.”*
